Step 2 Life Skills Home
Step 2 OT has recently developed a new and unique approach to developing independent life skills in the local community. Our team of Occupational Therapists have been working extensively on developing an environment that offers a respite service whilst implementing skill development plans, so as to measure and improve the capacity of young adults whom have a goal of moving out of their current living environment.
The purpose of this home is to stay for a 2-3 night period with a supportive team in the home to assess and develop the following skills:
- Meal Preparation
- General Household cleaning
- Bill payments
- Public transport training
- Safety in the home
- Safety in the community
- Social Skills
- Self Awareness
- Self Esteem
- Future planning
Please refer to our referrals page to enquire about this new service.
At Step 2 OT we value and appreciate the benefits of group programs. They offer a variety of opportunities for clients to be supported to meet their goals in a setting with other like minded individuals. This opens up opportunity for social connection, greater skill development, and potential development of self awareness and self esteem.
Please refer to our groups page for what is currently on offer and the referral options.
At Step 2 OT we believe that all individuals have the capacity to achieve their goals when provided with the right tools. These tools can change based on individual circumstances, which is why we work with a unique approach to support each client. No therapy plan will be a 'one size fits all' approach.
